Commanding General's 3 Gun Shoot

Competition will include:

Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun

Categories will include:

3 Man Team 

Individuals  

Equipment Check and Sign-In: 8:30 AM

Registration: 9 AM to 10 AM

Safety Brief: 10:15 AM

First Shoot: 10:30 AM

Event:

Shooter will traverse a course that show cases ability with three different weapon types, rifle, shotgun, and pistol. Shooters will have to accurately, quickly, and cautiously navigate the course.

Course of Fire: (all at one time) Shooter will have 2 minutes to set up weapons in firing lanes.

•       Rifle:

Shooter enter shooters box, and loads 5 rounds – fires

Shooter empties and drops magazine

Shooter moves to next shooting box and loads 5 rounds – fires

 Clears magazine and returns to table

Shooter moves to shotgun lanes

•       Shotgun:

 Shooter enters first shotgun position,  loads 4 rounds – fires

Shooter will move to next shotgun position, reloads 4 rounds – fires

Shooter will place cleared weapon on table

Shooter moves to pistol lanes

•       Pistol:

Shooter enters first pistol position, and load 5 rounds -fires

 Shooter empties and drops magazine

Shooter will move to next pistol position, and reloads 5 rounds –fires

Shooter empties and drops magazine, places weapon on the table or in holster (OVERALL TIMES STOPS WHEN WEAPON IS DOWN OR HOLSTERED)

Score:

Time for each weapon will be recorded and an overall time for the course.  Time deductions will be given for every target hit.  Penalties for violations will be added to overall time. Rankings will be done for each weapon and overall time. 

Awards:

Team awards – 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place

Individuals – Best Overall Time, Best Rifle Time, Best Pistol Time, Best Shotgun Time

** In the event that a shooter chooses not to participate in all three events, they will be allowed to perform their event of choice three times. These individuals will not be ranked among the overall scores but will still be able to participate and compare their times to others.

Breakfast and coffee will be available for participants before the competition. Lunch and refreshments will be offered to all participants before the awards ceremony.

Firearms must be registered on Fort Polk and registrations must be presented the day of the event. Pistol holster and gun belt/chest harness are required

Cost

$30 per shooter (pre-registration) Pre- Registration can be done by calling or visiting the MWR shooting range or online. 

$45 per shooter (day of the event)

Registration Information

Check in will be from 9 AM to 10 AM the day of the event. Day of registrations will be done at this time also.
